It's the beginning of March and it's been a couple months since we have given an update, so here's a quick one to let everyone know what's been going on at Tamarack Lodge.
We've got another month of ice fishing left. It's been a great winter and we've had a lot of new guests. Our cabins are pretty much full for the rest of the season and we'll be closing down right after Easter so that we can get a short break in before gearing up for summer.
Speaking of Summer, the Walleye fishing should be phenominal this year. Conversations we've had with the DNR have us really excited about the fishing on Lake Winnie. Lake Winnibigoshish is now ranked as one of the top 3 lakes in the state for size and population of Walleyes. It's one of a very few lakes that can boast of better fishing now than 10 or even 20 years ago.
Cabin construction appears to be on schedule, and we appologize for not having any updated pictures. As we get closer to completion, we will post pictures of the new cabins. Since our last update, we have spent pretty much all of our time working on the cabins. We are about a week away from having all of the knotty pine installed (6.25 MILES of it!). The painters will start this weekend in Cabins 1A & 1B while we finish up in Cabins 5 & 6. Once the painting is done, we will start installing all of the fixtures, carpeting, ceramic tile, and cabinets. Laura has already ordered all of the furniture and we will take delivery of it in late April. All the new appliances will be ordered next week including the Flat Screen LCD televisions that will be standard equipment in the new cabins.
Stay tuned for new pictures as the inside of our new cabins continue to take shape. Our regular customers will be pleasantly surprised by all the amentities we are including.
In addition to incredible views of Tamarack Bay, all of the new cabins will have Air Conditioning, Dishwashers, Flat Screen TV's and 2 bathrooms. Cabins 5 & 6 will have fireplaces and a balcony that will look down into a huge 28x28 living area. Cabins 1A & 1B will each have 3 bedrooms and easily sleep 10 people. The popularity of these new cabins is already creating waiting lists for certain weeks. If you want to reserve one of these brand new cabins, be sure to book early!
Summer bookings are looking pretty good for this time of year. We are really looking forward seeing all of our regular guests and welcoming our new ones to Tamarack Lodge.
